Buyer's Stamp Duty (BSD)
Buyer's Stamp Duty (BSD) is paid by property buyers in Singapore on the purchase price or market value (whichever is higher).
BSD uses progressive rates similar to income tax - higher property values pay higher rates on the excess amounts.
BSD applies to all property types: HDB, private residential, commercial, and industrial.

Seller's Stamp Duty
Seller's Stamp Duty (SSD)
Seller's Stamp Duty (SSD) is a tax on property sellers who sell within 4 years of purchase. It's designed to discourage property speculation.
SSD applies to all residential properties (HDB, private, EC) but not commercial or industrial.
SSD is calculated on the higher of sale price or market value.
